I'm writing this product review of the Yamaha Majesty as supplemental evidence that the Majesty is an excellent purchase.
For those of you who doubt it's quality, comfort, reliability, or performance...the debate is over.
I rode the Yamaha Majesty for a 773 mile one-way trip to San Antonio, Tx (from Santa Fe, NM) in 12 hrs. and 41 mins. Then turned around two weeks later and made the trip back. While I was in San Antonio, the Majesty performed flawlessly (rode 213 miles there).
A little more detail about the trip (one-way). Same was taken on return trip:
Secondary road distance: 455 Miles
Average (indicated) speed: 67 mph
Fuel Stops: 3
Average MPG: 58.5
Time enroute (includes fuel/breakfast): 7.15 hrs
Interstate distance: 318 Miles
Average Interstate (indicated) speed: 80 mph
Fuel stops: 2
Average MPG: 56.2
Time enroute(includes fuel/lunch):5.65 hrs
Misc. Data:
Total baggage(going/returning): 53.4 lbs.
Weather enroute (going): sunny, heavy rain last 120 miles.
Weather enroute (returning): sunny, windy.
Night riding (hrs): 2.1 (going), 1.8 (returning)
The ride in general was perfect!! The scooter never missed a beat. It started, ran and turned off as though it didn't just cover some 700+ miles each way.
After completing such a ride, I beg anyone to say the Yamaha Majesty couldn't do anything a motorcycle can do (and in cases much better--ie. carry 53 lbs of luggage).
